Clackamas is probably best known as the location of the Oregon Army National Guard facility at Camp Withycombe, which is about 10 minutes' drive from the center. Business-wise, Clackamas County has a diverse base where industry leaders specialize in sectors such as metals, healthcare, advanced technology, film and media production, forestry, machinery, food processing, agriculture and software development. The county boasts a large proportion of self-employed businesses and homegrown establishments with an Oregon HQ, as well as large publically traded companies.
